About these terms

These terms apply to your use of this website and to inquiries submitted through it. By using the site or submitting the placement inquiry form, you agree to them.

Our two services are separate

We offer two distinct options. The self-service search is provided by NannyServices.ca, an independent third-party platform. Full-Service Placement is our own service, delivered by our placement team.

These services are separate and are not interchangeable. Fees, screening steps and terms that apply to Full-Service Placement do not apply to the self-service option, and profiles on NannyServices.ca are not screened by our placement team. When you use that platform, its own terms and privacy policy govern your use of it.

Scope of Full-Service Placement

Full-Service Placement is intended for recurring part-time or full-time babysitter and nanny positions. We do not provide an emergency, one-off or concierge babysitting service.

Submitting an inquiry is free and creates no obligation on either side. A search begins only after we have reviewed your requirements and the scope, fee and terms have been agreed in writing.

Part-time placements start at CAD $2,000 and full-time placements start at CAD $3,000. Specialized or combined roles are quoted following a consultation. The starting figures shown on this website are indicative; the fee that applies to your position is the one confirmed in writing to you.

You are the employer

Unless a separate written agreement states otherwise, your family hires the chosen caregiver directly. Calgary Babysitters is not the employer of the caregiver and is not a party to the employment relationship.

Your family is responsible for the terms of that employment and for complying with all applicable requirements, including Alberta employment standards, payroll deductions, remittances, insurance and tax obligations. We recommend confirming these with an accountant, payroll provider or the Canada Revenue Agency.

Your responsibilities

You agree to provide accurate information about the position, and to make the final hiring decision yourself. We recommend that every family independently interviews candidates, contacts references directly, and requests a police information check with a vulnerable sector search before hiring.

You agree to use this website lawfully, not to submit false or automated inquiries, and not to attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorised access to the site.

What we do not warrant

We do not guarantee that a suitable candidate will be found, that a search will be completed within a particular period, or that any placement will continue for a given length of time. Candidate availability depends on the local labour market.

While we take care in the screening steps agreed for your search, we cannot guarantee the future conduct or performance of any individual. The information on this website is provided for general guidance and is not legal, tax or employment advice.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Calgary Babysitters is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses arising from the use of this website, the self-service option, or the conduct of any caregiver or family. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Governing law, changes and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the applicable laws of Canada.

We may update these terms from time to time; the effective date below will change when we do. Questions can be sent to placements@babysitterscalgary.ca.
